Setting Up Satellite TV
Installing your Satellite TV Dish Network satellite system broadcasts the television programming through its satellites via transmission stations positioned on various locations on earth. The programming or the digital images are transmitted to the satellites that are orbiting the earth several miles above the United States. These satellites receive the digital programs and then send them back in a way that nearly everyone with a plain view of the sky can receive it. This signal that is being sent by the satellite is received by the mini-dishes, which forward them through cables to your Dish Network receiver. The dish network reliever is set up to convert the digital signal to a viewable picture.

You should ensure that your dish network satellite system has a clear line of site with the satellite - there should be no trees or buildings in very close proximity of the dish, or these can interfere with your ability to receive the signal. It is very important to make sure that there is nothing between your dish and where your dish is pointing in the sky and ensure all wiring and components are properly connected.

After you have checked the dish and the cable connections, if the picture quality has still not working properly then it is possible that the receiver is not receiving or decoding the signal properly. This problem may be simple to fix Рfirst, unplug the receiver for 30 seconds and then plug it back. If the problem still persists, try taking out the programming card and installing again, as this will reset the receiver and it may start functioning again. If you are receiving a picture but no sound; or sound but no picture; or a fuzzy picture or sound, recheck your cable connection. Poor picture and sound quality is most commonly an outcome of poor wire connections, signal interference, or TV settings.

Sometimes you may discover that the TV picture freezes - this is a clear indication that your dish needs some typically minor adjustment. For a fixed dish adjust the elevation first. If still there is no improvement, then adjust the dish positioning, moving it slightly east or west. However, before doing this you must mark your starting position. Also, while you tune the dish position keep an eye at the signal quality meter. This troubleshooting step is based on the fact that some frequencies are stronger than others so they give better signals. Therefore, the dish needs to be tuned to stronger frequency to produce a flawless picture and sound quality.
